Breathe, Soften and Ask for What You Need

Breathe and Soften print in picture frame

I painted this piece as a gentle reminder to myself for humaning:

✨ Have faith. Deepening my trust muscles will always and forever be my practice. Yes and amen.

❤️🫁 Breathe & soften. How can I soften in this moment? Toward myself. And toward others. This question is one I ask myself all day long.

It’s helped transform my inner drill sergeant to a softy. Do you have a softening practice?

🙏🏼 Ask for what you need. Is there anything more liberating?

✨ Rest and Restore. As someone who is a natural doer, this is a practice that I really have to work at AND it changes everything. I like to think of it as my own personal and radical protest. I take my time. I linger. I do a lot of puttering and lounging. I let all the ideas drop into that spaciousness without activating immediately. I wander. Daydream. I see it as my work as an artist to do so.

Here’s to finding and nourishing all the ways that make being a human more loving on ourselves and others. ❤️🌈🙏🏼♦️💕🌟

BIG XO,
Kelly Rae
