Happy Projects

The following projects make me happy. And I hope they make you happy, too. Their intention? To inspire, to create dialogue, and in some cases, to surprise ourselves while surprising others with unexpected kindness. I can’t tend to them all, all of the time, but when I do have a chance to play, my heart sings.

How Cute Is That? is my mom’s favorite expression — and our ongoing home decor & DIY series. From aprons to attics to alternative offices, we’re breathing new life into anything old, sharing inspired ideas,  and spinning mismatched scraps into charming decor. And YES, you can try this at home!

Ask Kelly Rae is your chance to prompt me with your thoughtful, soulful & beautifully complex questions about just about anything! Art, love, relationships, friendships, business, creativity, home decor, where I got my prized cowgirl boots — the doors are wiiiide open.

The Possibilitarian Project is a curated collection of inspiring (true) stories. Artists & writers & entrepreneurs who made their ‘impractical’ dreams a reality. Possibility-fueled visionaries who stepped into their own limitlessness. Against the grain, against the odds. Just because . . . they had a calling they couldn’t ignore. It’s more than a blog series, it’s a movement.

With Art in Motion, I take you on a visual journey through the life of one of my paintings — from
the blank canvas, to the first splash of inspiration, all the way to the finished piece.
Enjoy to the fullest!

With Mamahood & Business, I talk to brave & honest mompreneurs about parenting, business, & balance. I ask about their boundaries, priorities, their family rituals. I ask about their melt-downs and their aha moments that occur between bedtime routine and hard-core business decisions.  I ask how they hold it all together, while keeping their heart open and their business booming. Lean in, learn something — and laugh with us.

Kindness Missions are not-so-random acts of gratitude & love. Like writing a thank you note to your mom. Or sending 1,000 thank you notes to every teacher in your school district. My goal is to drop beautiful Kindness Bombs in our neighborhoods, every month. And we’d love to share the missions and the afterglow, with you.

From The Archives is a series where I look back, dust off curated posts from long ago and present them to you, with new purpose. I believe in remembering who we are, who we wanted to be. For me, looking back is a thoughtful way to lean into how far we’ve traveled, how the lessons still ring true, how old insights and wisdom become new again.

The Heart Project is a photo project where I snap quick shots of the hearts that I spy out in the world. I always find them in unexpected places and when I do, it feels like a sweet little surprise, a message from the universe that Love is all around.
