Flying lessons e-book: part three

What I’ve learned in the last few years is that we can propel ourselves into living our dreams with successful creative businesses with two must haves: inspiration + tips. And that’s exactly what Flying Lessons: Part Three is all about. Inspiration comes from sharing the stories of our creative journeys so that we can begin to dismantle all the misconceptions of what the creative life looks like. It means getting our hearts engaged in the business side of what we do and connecting to all the layers of our creative lives – our joys, successes, and downfalls.

And then there are hugely important tips – practical information and advice that we all need to be successful. When I started my creative journey, I was surprised at how hard it was to find answers to many of my questions: How do artists get all that press? How do they get published in magazines? How in the world do they get licensing deals? And how do they manage their time and get so much done? And most importantly: How do they stay engaged with their hearts and inspiration while managing the business side of what they do?

In Flying Lessons: Part Three, you’ll receive the answers to all those practical questions and more inside a beautifully designed, highly interactive + functional PDF e-book. It’s 90 pages and includes loads of information, personal stories of what’s worked for me (and what hasn’t worked), links, and resources that will save you boatloads of time and money in hours spent researching. I’ll give you concrete information and tips along the way so that you, too, can create your own success whether you’re a crafter, a photographer, an artist, a writer, or someone who is still learning! You’ll find musings, encouragement, practical tips and thoughtful guidance on everything from how to get press, to how to get published in your favorite magazine (it’s not as hard as you think!) to how to manage your time, acttualize your goals, and so much more. Along the way, you’ll find my detailed answers to all the questions that frequently come my way.

MORE specifically, this e-book includes:

* 90 pages of a beautifully designed and highly interactive PDF with loads of links, resources, and information that will save you enormous amounts of time (and money) spent researching your many questions. I can’t stress enough how gorgeous this e-book is as well as highly functional and interactive with internal links, external links, and an entire appendix dedicated to resources just for you! Once downloaded, this e-book is yours forever.

I share my own experience with licensing and everything I’ve learned along the way. * How to diversify your creative biz income with other opportunities such as teaching opportunities, blog sponsorships, affiliate programs, and more.
* Effective and detailed strategies for managing your time and actualizing your goals, including how to take your goals and effectively break them down into small doable steps that are then scheduled accordingly. I share my personal strategy (and give you a behinds the scenes look at my calendar) on how I  schedule my small steps all the way through until the goal has been accomplished. This is key to your creative biz success. It’s all about strategy and scheduling and I share everything I’ve learned on the matter.
* Ways to embrace the creative biz journey, including recharging your soul, handling competition, burnout, as well as everyday ways to celebrate the journey.
* The ins and out of copyright law, how to protect your work, and how to handle folks who are replicating your work.
* An entire section on why inspiration + passion + commitment are absolutely key to creating a successful creative business. I’ll share my own story of how I unearthed that inspiration/passion/commitment and how the same is possible for you.
* Personal stories of what’s worked for me, and what hasn’t worked for me as I grew my own creative biz. I go into detail regarding everything I’ve learned along the way, and answer, in detail, all the questions that frequently come my way on all the above topics.

Q: Will I be able be able to keep the PDF forever?
A: Yes, once you download it, it’s yours forever. Be sure that you download it to the computer where you want to store it (ie, your home computer, not your work computer). Also, be sure that you know where downloaded documents “go” on your computer so that once it’s downloaded, you can easily find it on your computer.

Q: Do I need special software to read the e-books on my computer?
A: I would recommend reading it with Adobe Reader which is free to download. You don’t HAVE to have Adobe Reader – any software on your computer that can read PDF’s will work.

Q: I love your book. Do you repeat any of the content of your book in these e-books?
A: I do share some excerpts from my book, Taking Flight, but please rest assured that although I do cover some topics in my book (like addressing fears, etc), the absolute majority of the content of these e-books are not covered in the book. And the topics that are addressed in the book (like fears) are expanded upon with new content.

Q: I think I’d rather wait to take your Flying Lessons e-course. When will you be offering it again?
A: I usually run the e-course about once a year, though I can’t guarantee when I’ll offer it again due to an always changing workload of projects. That’s exactly why I decided to offer the e-course content in e-book formats – because I knew I wouldn’t be able to run the e-course on a regular basis.
