How can I get in touch with you?
You can email me anytime at kellyraeroberts[at]gmail[dot]com.

What is a possibilitarian?
I first saw the word ‘possibilitarian’ in a quote by Dr. Norman Peale: “Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities—always see them, for they’re always there.” I’ve been hooked on its meaning ever since. Do you see the bright light of your life’s horizon (even on the average days)? Do you feel its warmth (even when you’re struggling)? Have you begun to touch the surface of all that is possible for your life? Does it give you goosebumps to think about it (I hope it does)? If so, then you’re a possibilitarian, too.

Do you teach workshops?
Yes, but I keep a limited teaching schedule, especially now that I’m a new mom. Please check out the news page for all upcoming events, including speaking and workshop engagements.  Also, please sign up for the newsletter if you’d like to stay informed on a routine basis. Don’t forget to check out Flying Lessons: Tips + Tricks To Help Your Creative Biz Soar (a series of e-books just for you!)

Where did you go to art school?
I didn’t attend art school! I have a graduate degree in clinical social work and worked for many years as a medical social worker before pursuing art full time. If you’d like to take a peek at my journey into art, visit my time line of small steps.

Do you have any advice on how I can get started in my art career or how I can improve my creative business, such as online sales, and marketing?
As much as I’d like to offer specific information + support to each person who contacts me, it’s just not possible. However, I did create a series of e-books called Flying Lessons: Tips + Tricks To Help Your Creative Biz Soar where I answer, in detail, all the questions that come my way!

How do you create your original paintings?
Some of my favorite works include the use of acrylics, oils, patterned papers, music sheets, old buttons, charcoal, ink, stamps. If you’d like to know my specific techniques, then check out my book! Also, I’ve listed all of my favorite art supplies on my blog sidebar.

Will you do a commissions for me?
I do not do commissions. I’m sorry!

Are you available for licensing?
Yes! Please contact me to start the conversation.

How can I place a wholesale order for your products ?
The Kelly Rae Roberts Collection, my home + gift line with DEMDACO, includes many products such as wall canvases, totebags, charm necklaces, bookmarks, keepsake boxes, and more.  You can view the entire collection and what’s available for wholesale on DEMDACO’s website – click the “retailer” link on their website to be connected to a sales rep in your area. Also, you can see many photos of the products right here - these are a collection of photos from boutique owners, gift shows, and more.

Additionally, the Journey To Wings Collection, my stationery line with Brush Dance, includes products such as journals, magnets, calendars, and more. You can view this stationery collection and what’s available for wholesale on the Brush Dance website – click on the “wholesale” link for more information.

I own a shop and would love to sell your book, Taking Flight. How do I go about placing a wholesale order?
Please call the publisher’s warehouse at 1.800.289.0963 to set up your wholesale account and place an order. Easy, breezy.

I don’t see that you have any original paintings for sale. When will you have more available and how much will they cost?
Periodically, I list new batches of paintings for sale in the shop. Please sign up for the newsletter if you’d like to be notified when new paintings (and other goodies) have been listed for sale. Prices for original paintings usually range from $100 – $1000, depending on the size and complexities of the painting.

I see several images in the ‘matted prints’ category that I would love to have as a wall canvas. Is this an option?
Unfortunately, it’s not an option. The only images that are available as a wall canvas are the ones listed in the ‘wall canvases’ category. I’m so sorry!

The quality of your matted prints is fantastic! Do you make them yourself or do you have them printed elsewhere?
Using a professional Epson scanner and fancy printer, I print them myself. They are high quality, made using archival, fade-resistant inks on professional grade paper with a luster finish. Specifically, I use the Epson Perfection 4490 photo scanner and the Epson Stylus R1800 inkjet printer.

Your wall canvases are so well made – they look very close to an original painting. How’d you do that?
The wall canvases are part of my extensive home + gift line (called The Kelly Rae Roberts Collection) with DEMDACO, a large national gift company. Each piece was closely color-matched to the original painting and then printed on a stretched canvas. The canvas is gallery style with thicker sides, making the whole piece look remarkably like an original painting. DEMDACO did an incredible job with this collection and I couldn’t be happier with how the line turned out!

What methods of payment do you accept? How long will it take to receive my order?
Please head on over to our shop policies page for all the details regarding payment, shipping fees, delivery times, and more.

Do you ship internationally?
At this time, we are unable to process international orders via this website.

Is it okay if I sell the artwork I’ve made using your techniques as outlined in Taking Flight?
I have strong feelings about what is and is not okay when it comes to this topic. Please head over to this specific blog post for more information.

I’m curious, how did you get your book deal?
An editor from North Light publishing sent me an email and asked if I would be interested in writing a book. Eventually, I sent her a book proposal and it was accepted! If you’re interested in how to get published, check out my e-books!

I live in a small town and am having a hard time finding the art supplies you mention in your book. Where can I find them online?

I’ve posted links to my favorite art supplies (and online art supply stores) on my blog sidebar – I hope this is helpful!

I notice that you have sponsors on your blog sidebar. How can I become a sponsor/advertiser on your blog?
Are you looking for a place to advertise your creative business or perhaps promote a project you’re working on? Contact me, and I’ll send you details on sponsorship opportunities!

I love your photos in your blog posts. What kind of camera do you use?
I have the Canon Digital Rebel XTi (and I love it). My favorite lens is the Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Macro lens.

How did you get the three column template on your blogspot blog?
I get asked this question all of the time! This website dedicated to tips for bloggers will walk you through a few quick and easy steps to get the three column template – yay!

Why are the comments closed on your blog?
It’s a personal choice I made when I began to feel like I was writing less and less for my creative + personal expression and more and more for an audience. For me, keeping the comments closed is the only way I know how to keep my writing personal, vulnerable, and  purposeful to my creative journey.

Your green couch is adorable. Where did you get it?
Thank you so much! We love it too! It’s the leather Manhattan couch over at Pottery Barn in  “parsley green.”

I love the paint colors in your home and studio. Can you tell me exactly what they are?
Just about every single room in our house was already painted when we moved in (we got very lucky). Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the specific paint colors chosen by the previous occupants. I’m so sorry!

Where did you get the necklace you’re wearing in the photo on your homepage? Who took that photo of you?

I am wearing a necklace that I bought from my good friend and artist extraordinaire, Mati Rose. The photo was taken by photographer Denise Andrade – she also took the portrait photos that are featured on the about page, and the blog.

How old are you and where are you located?
I am 35 years young. I live in Portland, Oregon with my outdoorsy husband John and our airplane-eared dog Bella.
